Blog Post: Are These the Habits of a High-Performing Adult?

There’s a male fitness coach going viral right now for his 3 AM/4 AM morning routine. Some are calling it unnecessary. Others are calling it performance. Some say, “He’s just doing it for views,” while others are inspired by the discipline. But it made me stop and ask myself: Are these the habits of a high-performing, career-driven adult?

And if not exactly that, then what is?

I ask because once upon a time—back in high school—I was incredibly organized. I had a planner. I would write out my after-school routine by the hour. My mom used to be so impressed with how structured I was. It gave me a sense of control, clarity, and direction.

But somewhere along the way, I drifted. Life got busy. Now, most days I operate off of a mental planner, which sounds functional… until it’s not. I’ll have 12 things floating in my brain and then wonder why I feel mentally exhausted. Lately I’ve been thinking, Is it time to get back to the physical planner? Or even use my digital calendar with alerts to gently nudge me back into rhythm?

What does high-performance look like when you’re not just managing tasks—but managing identities?

For those of you who don’t know, I wear several hats:
• I’m a licensed realtor.
• A licensed independent travel advisor.
• The daughter of a guru book publisher and a guru trucking entrepreneur.
• A big sister. A granddaughter. A mentor. A friend.

I’m proud of all the roles I play. I see myself as someone who can do it all—but lately, I’ve been asking, Can I do it all well? And what does “well” even mean to me now?

Is it meal prepping on Sundays and laying out my outfits for the week?
Is it drinking water, staying moisturized, and scheduling therapy like I schedule meetings?
Is it finding a church home? Saying no more often? Prioritizing a weekly FaceTime with my grandma?

Does “high-performing” have to mean hyper-productive? Or can it mean emotionally available? Spiritually grounded? Physically nourished?

I’ve started building out a weekly to-do list again—nothing fancy, just small, consistent wins. And I have to admit, checking off each item gives me a mini sense of accomplishment. But still, I wonder: Is structure the secret to freedom? Or does too much planning box us in?

Being on the cusp of 30 is such a weird and beautiful space. It feels like a bridge between who I thought I would be and who I still have time to become. I want to use this time wisely—but what does “wise” even look like now? Is it in the hustle? Or is it in the rest?

And so, I ask the question again: What are the habits of high-performing adults?

Is it waking up at 3 AM to train, or is it giving yourself grace when you sleep in?
Is it hitting career goals, or is it calling your siblings back and making space for joy?

I don’t have all the answers—but maybe that’s the point. Maybe the power isn’t in having it all figured out, but in asking the right questions, and building a life that feels aligned with the answers we uncover along the way.

Thirteen months ago I decided to become a Vegetarian . I can't take full credit because the idea was not completely mine it was my moms and I was a support for her but she quit and thirteen months later I'm still at it! Before I decided to become vegetarian I would go weeks at a time not eating meat , I just didn’t crave it . I was not the type of person who needed meat to survive so being a full fledged vegetarian came somewhat easy . I had tried it before for months and then went back to meat and now thirteen months is the longest I've been ! Here are some of the things that I've learned along the way .

There are a lot of vegetarians:
When I became vegetarian I began to meet more vegetarians , and maybe my eyes just weren't open to them before but they are there ! Whenever I meet a fellow veggie its like we share this special bond and were somehow connected in a veggie cult .
There are a ton of meat substitutes:
Contrary to what you may believe just because I eat a veggie burger does not mean I want a real burger .In the beginning soy based meat substitutes can act as a crutch when you are transitioning into vegetarianism , some of the meat substitutes are so good they even get approved by meat eaters !
Vegetarian resturants:
Nuff Said! I was really blind before I became a vegetarian but these restaurant's make you realize 100% you do not need meat ! A restaurant where you can literally eat everything is amazing because most times we just stick to side dishes And I love how restaurants like Freshii charge extra for meat ! Its the perfect vegetarian fast food restaurant.
Be plant based:
I learned the hard way that I was doing vegetarianism all wrong by eating bread , rice , pasta , fries and chips , that was literally a terrible diet to have and my body suffered tremendously ,now that I am plant based I can really feel the benefits of being vegetarian I feel so much energy , my skin is glowing and I am losing weight . Being vegetarian is lit !
Vegetarian and vegan are two different things:
A vegetarian is one who does not eat meat , however a vegan does not consume or use any animal products .A vegan will not consume dairy at all or wear leather and are against products tested on animals ! It amazes me how many people think I am a vegan and how many people try to convince me to be a vegan . I have 100% thought of it and who knows whats in the future for me but for now i'm just a vegetarian .
People try to convince me to eat meat:
When people find out I'm a vegetarian they do some weird stuff : a coworker waved a piece of bacon in my face and I was triggered , literally my whole family tells me to eat meat and its kind of annoying .This was a decision I clearly made and I knew what i was doing when I made it so the interference is really irritating . I'm Vegetarian AF.

This has been the most fun journey I have ever been on and I have learned so much about myself and the culture ! I would love to hear feedback from fellow vegetarians in the comments also if you have any questions about vegetarianism in the comments please ask lets start a discussion ! If you feel there is anything I missed on the list feel free to add !
