Weekends are a time for many of us to take a break from our work and focus on the things that make us happy. Our generation has collectively decided we're not going to die for a job who won't do the same for us. We recognize how replaceable we are and we act accordingly. In previous years our parents and grandparents stayed at jobs they were miserable at for years but that is totally not the millennial culture when it comes to work. We take our PTO and we smile wile doing it off the clock truly means off the clock. For many millennial women, weekends are a time to relax, explore, and have fun. I live in a big city where there is always something going on so the weekends are a great time for me to try new restaurants see new exhibits and then get home in time do do my Sunday resets. Here are some of the ways that millennial women are spending their weekends off:
Going on Dates: Whether it’s a romantic dinner with a special someone, or a casual movie night with friends, going on dates is a great way for millennial women to unwind and have a good time. There are so many options for dates these days, from the traditional dinner and a movie to virtual dates and outdoor activities. In this area I could use a lot of work , I tend to explore places alone because I truly hate waiting around for others and I love moving oil my own schedule. my energy is very important to me and I'm very cautious of who I share it with. in 2023 I want to open myself up to more dates I think I'm due for a little romance! Exploring the City: Many millennial women are taking the opportunity to explore their cities during the weekends. This can mean walking around to different neighborhoods, visiting museums, and trying new restaurants. Exploring the city is a great way to take in the sights and sounds of a new place and also to get some fresh air and exercise. I plan to move soon so exploring different neighborhoods is a great way to explore al of your options and decide which neighborhood would welcome you the best. Chicago is huge and made up of so many neighborhoods that it can be hard to decide , I do believe this is one of the things that have kept me "at home" but when it comes to Chicago you almost cant go wrong. Seeing Friends and Family: Weekends are a great time to catch up with friends and family, whether it’s in-person or over video calls. Spending time with loved ones is an important part of self-care and can help to reduce feelings of stress and loneliness. My aunt and uncle own and operate a bakery in Aurora Illinois , we have been blessed to spend alot of time there with family on the weekends celebrating birthdays and just loving one another. most weekends we all gather there order food and just laugh and joke all day, for those days I am truly thankful. Cleaning the House and Doing Resets: For many millennial women, weekends are also a time to get things done around the house. This can mean cleaning, reorganizing, and doing any repairs that need to be done. A clean and organized house is a great way to help reduce stress and prepare for the upcoming week. I Love my Sunday resets. Period . I believe the Sunday reset sets the tone for the whole week , getting your laundry done, prepping your meals , scheduling out your social media post, the Sunday resets is there to make your life so much easier . Work/Life Balance is Important It is important for millennial women to remember to take time for themselves and to set boundaries with work. It is all too easy to become overwhelmed by work and spend too much time on it, leaving little time for self-care. Taking time to rest, relax, and have fun is important for overall wellbeing. Setting boundaries with work and taking time away from it can help to restore balance and prevent burnout. Weekends are a great time to take a break and focus on the things that make us happy. For many millennial women, weekends are a time to go on dates, explore the city, and spend time with friends and family. Taking time for self-care and setting boundaries with work are also important for achieving work/life balance. So millennial woman, how are you spending your weekend?

I recently had the opportunity to spend an amazing vacation in Dubai.
During my stay, I was able to explore the city and learn so much about its history and culture. I had the chance to visit the world-famous Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and the iconic Dubai Mall. I also visited the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, which was a truly incredible experience. Everywhere I went, I encountered people who were pushing the boundaries to create innovative and successful businesses. This inspired me to think about how I could apply this same spirit to my own goals. As I enter into year 27 I have a few affirmations that I want to say to myself to keep me on track throughout the year whether times are good or bad. 27 Affirmations for 27
I like to say my affirmations when I wake up ion the morning to set the overall mood and vibe for my day. By journaling and saying affirmations in the morning you ensure your thoughts are not influenced by things on social media or news first thing in the morning. Another great time to say affirmations are when you need a little extra boost or reassurance. Its okay to self-sooth your self and say the things you need to hear until you get back on track. As I approach my 26th year I wanted to continue my tradition of doing a blog post to reflect and map out goals. I have been so blessed in the previous years since I moved back to Chicago from Florida and started this blog to make sense of things. As always my travel goals have been met, I've been on four beautiful trips in 2021, which were life-changing, to say the least. On my travels, I found myself back in Orlando, FL the city that stole my heart back when I was on my Disney College Program, and I was filled with so many mixed emotions. I went to all of my favorite restaurants, went to my favorite Disney parks, my favorite stores in the area and for a while, it felt like wow this is the life I used to live. Life has taken many twists and turns but I think I am currently on the right path. I quit my dead-end job in retail and I am in the program on a fast track to Real Estate, property management, and financial freedom. This is truly me reaching my next level and hitting peak adulthood. At this big age, it's time to start looking like it and acting like it. If I'm being honest 26 makes me nervous because Life is getting real, and I know that life has been real for so many others for a long time but I still had my safety net. I want to Continue traveling, Continue my health journey, and as always trying new places in the city. I've compiled a list of things I have learned over the course of the past 26 years on Earth and I would like to share that list below.
I truly believe your birthday is the true start to the new year and the true day to start to measure your growth and make adjustments. Life is full of blessings, lessons, and opportunities. Life can be whatever you make it I've created myself a life that is enjoyable and My theme forbear 25 was showing gratitude, however, my theme for 26 is … I'm coming for what I deserve. I noticed that lately and for the past few years I have been saying I don’t feel like it , it can be the most simple or most complex task and I just won’t do it because I didn’t like it. I recognize this was hurting me more than it was helping me. I’ve cancelled on all of my friends in the name of self care or being a homebody but I am now realizing I was actually self sabotaging. Often times I would show up just to support the people I love and I realized that I was actually enjoying myself. So why was I so determined to stay home when I knew that I would have fun if I went out. Most days If I don't work or go to school I will stay home all day and say something like “ I Love being home," but this cant be good for me? I I noticed that I am very lazy , I want to have a easy going as possible life , I like to go with the flow . But sometimes things need planning . When I think of the person woman I want to be she isn’t lazy. She gets her stuff done, she is very productive and proactive. So now that I know that what I am doing is not good for me how do I get over I don't feel like it
Do it anyway. The things that you are putting off because you don't feel like still need to be done sooner or later , you only waste your time by continuously putting it off. When I was younger I use to schedule out my day and I was the most productive I ever been. I want to get back to my scheduled days . When you make a schedule you can schedule down time as well as time to do the things you don't feel like doing. When you make a schedule you are motivated to stay on track with the schedule . Go for a short amount of time If there is a place or social gathering you are nervous about attending or just don't feel like it , make a plan to go and stay for a short period of time. Plan to take a couple of pics, and have an escape plan. The cool thing about this is no one ever has to know the true reason why you're leaving , you can make up an excuse of having another party, or just say bye to people and leave without explanation. Do what feels best for you. Small breaks If there is a big task you have to to do such as cleaning or studying you can always try the pomodoro technique which is where you do the task for 25 minutes then take a five minute break. You repeat this 4 times then you can take a 15-30 minute break . This technique is proven to be effective. Over 2 million people have already used the Pomodoro® Technique to transform their lives, making them more productive, more focused and even smarter. If you often find you cant focus on a task for long without getting bored pomodoro might be perfect for you. Reward yourself For everything you do that you don't feel like it , reward yourself. The reward can be anything from a break to a food to a gift for yourself but motivate yourself and reward yourself. Tel your self if I finish this then I can have …xyz use that as your motivation to get over I don't feel like it. I hope this post find you well, and helps you on your journey of self betterment. It is my goal to encourage my readers and do so by using my own personal experiences, I am transparent with my readers , Which means you are getting the real me 100% of the time. I have no problem telling people that struggle with laziness and procrastination for a lack of better words. That being said I want us all to readjust our focus together. Envision the person you want to be the type of life you want to live. Evaluate the way you are living now and see how it measures up. Make any and all necessary changes. If this post gave you new tips leet me know , otherwise share in the comments effective techniques you have used to help get over the “I don't feel like it”. My mother asked me why have you always wanted to do these things but never done it?I had to reflect and thinks to myself wow she’s right there are so many things I’ve wanted to do but never done it. At that moment I made up my mind that I was going to start doing the things I have always wanted to do. As a woman we want girly pretty things but somewhere down the line the world tricks us into believing we don't deserve those things or cant have them because we are regular people. But I am here to tell you why you deserve luxury and how to add luxury into your life.
You work five days week to have two days off to prepare you to work five days again, if you’re lucky you travel once twice a year. That cant be your reality you need to add the luxury to your life that you desire. This includes incorporating self care, workouts, journaling and treating yourself. Your body will literally tell you what it needs but, you can start with small things like: Wear perfume daily As you get older you should begin to invest in actual perfumes, buy that fragrance you have had your eyes on and stop using body mist. The actual perfume last longer and will bring you joy throughout the day. You feel good when you look and smell good almost like you can conquer the world. Also the fact of the matter is perfume is expensive and you only wear to on special occasions, you get your moneys with by wearing it more often. Wear pajamas. Sleeping pretty and waking up pretty makes me feel like I'm the main character in a coming of age film. Jackie Aina recently said she threw away all of her mix match clothes and brought everything that matches. Due to the pandemic we spend most of our time at home so why not maximize that time at home to still feel pretty for an extra boost of happiness. Have separate clothing for the day and night time and actually get dressed for the day even you don't leave your house. Get a skin care routine Having a skin care routine is so basic yet so essential. Whether your routine is Drug store or high end you use what works for you and you stick to it. Due to the pandemic Maskne its a thing and having a consistent skin care routine can drastically decrease maskne. you have to take care of your skin so that you age gracefully, As you begin to age you have to get a new skin care routine that targets different areas . I highly suggest teaming up with an esthetician to reach your skin care goals and concerns. Read more Reading is a great way to escape reality by losing yourself into a great book. I was the kid in high school who use to read so many books at least 20 a year, in my adult years I didn’t read as much but as of r. For me reading is a great way to get to know new characters after you have binge watched everything in Netflix already . Bonus points if you read something in the self help genre. Try something you have always wanted to try Try to do something you have always wanted to whether its something so simple like a recipe , or trying that restaurant you always try. If it's a more longer, make a plan start acting on it so you can do it. You should be maximizing life , you shouldn’t be spending time wanting to do things instead of doing them. Try a new hair color take a different route while youre driving life is so full of opportunities but I'm afraid you miss them by not switching it up and trying new things . By doing these small things you will add a little more luxury to your life, burnout can happen but by keeping a spark of excitement in your life you can prevent it. I struggle with treating myself often but , you should not feel bad about taking care of yourself ever. Work on treating yourself good ,work on being kinder to yourself , work on loving yourself. Self care is not Selfish. With everything going on In The world it seems kind of selfish to be celebrating my birthday , nonetheless here we are. Due to recent events the biggest trip of my travel history was cancelled and the passport that I recently purchased was deemed useless. For a person like me who works all year and takes vacations for fun this really got me in a funk.I had to find a different way to celebrate my birthday while still adhering to CDC guidelines : I opted for small get togethers with trusted family and friends .
I always like to start my birthday off with reflections and this year will be no different . Reflecting back on year 24 I can honestly say things started to fall into place for me despite the ever so changing world around me. I finally fell into my groove at work and with my friend group. Traveling to my many destinations was great as always and exploring my hometown of Chicago,IL became a hobbie as well. I spent year 23 wishing I was still in Florida and trying to adjust to life after the DCP (Disney College program) but I can honestly say in year 24 I came to terms with things and understood why I was meant to be back home in IL . In year 24 I really did take the term self care seriously I treated myself often and made several splurge purchases. I loved the people around me and I did self reflecting and asked myself how can I be better as a person and better to the people around me? Today my friend Tiana said to “trust the process...” and that really stood out to me because that’s really all we can do in life. I know that trusting the process can be hard because we have so many external factors (social media) influencing our believes on where we should be in life. With people posting their accomplishments 24/7 it’s easy to get entangled with social media. The best thing to do is to take small breaks and to tell yourself that maybe it was their time and your time is coming !! I’m trusting in my process in the corporate world , in my process through fitness , through friendships , traveling and the pandemic. Through it all I’ve decided to show gratitude. Showing gratitude whether times are good or bad helps to keep a positive outlook on life . In year 25 I hope to continue elevating untill I reach my full potential, keep climbing the corporate ladder and continue to travel after the bans are lifted . Through faith and love all things are possible and I have that from Jesus Christ my lord and savior.
